Mobility Scooters: So Many options

Mobility Scooters: So Many options

Now that we have had a few months to try our first (used, fairly inexpensive just to see if Karl could even fit) motorized mobility scooter, we have learned about the various options available – TOO MANY!  Color, size, seat style, seat size, weight capacity, how many wheels, how many batteries, how fast to travel….etc!

We finally settled on a PERFECT MATCH for Karl to use.  View details here!

Watch for future issues of our blog as we learn how to use it wisely!

Of course we need to “accessorize” too!  This phone holder is a perfect addition for convenience and safety!  For more information on it, click here!

Another “necessary accessory” might be a Visibility Vest such as this one: Click Here

Warm Glow

Warm Glow

Himalayan Salt Aromatherapy Lamp

This time of year it is dark in the mornings.  And chilly.  The subtle glow of our little Himalayan Salt Aromatherapy lamp gives a glimpse of the light of a new day.  With a few drops of Cedar Essential oil, it smells like fall, and I fall into my chair, ready to let the day fade into view, coffee in hand, and my Bible on my lap.  God’s Faithfulness is new every morning!

Regaining my keys

Regaining my keys

Today there was a surprise.  Not a good one either.  It was advised that I surrender my keys.  No longer is it considered safe for me to drive.

Ah, but another surprise awaited – I was given a new set of keys, to my new “transport” – a beautiful 3 wheel mobility scooter!  Not my compact SUV, but  it gives me some amount of freedom, at least.

Now, just as a teen learning to drive, I have some education ahead of me…be sure to use caution!

Seasons Change…again

Seasons Change…again

There is something magical about the changing of seasons. As the cool breezes of autumn give way to a snowy winter wonderland, we are reminded that nothing in life remains the same forever. There is a rhythm and a pulse to the changing of seasons that is much like the ebb and flow of life. We all must go through different stages of life, and as we do, we experience change, growth, and hopefully, growth. In this blog post, we will explore how changing seasons are like aging, and how they can bring us hope, despite the uncertainties that come with aging.

As I sit in my garden, observing the changing of seasons, I am reminded of how similar it is to aging. Just as nature prepares for the coming winter by shedding its leaves and hunkering down, we, too, must prepare ourselves for the changes and challenges that come with growing older. Aging is a natural process that affects each of us differently. Some of us grow wise and content, while others experience fear and uncertainty about what lies ahead. Regardless of how we feel about it, the passing of time is the one constant factor that we all face in life.

However, despite the uncertainty that comes with aging, there is also hope. Just as the changing of seasons has its own beauty and wonder, so too does growing old. We can embrace each new phase of our lives, knowing that there is always something to look forward to. Whether it’s grandchildren, travel, or simply enjoying the peace and quiet of our golden years, there is always something to keep us motivated and inspired.

As we journey through life, we must learn to adapt and change with the seasons. Just as the trees shed their leaves and prepare for winter, we too must learn to let go of what no longer serves us in life. This may mean letting go of old habits, beliefs, or relationships that no longer serve our best interests. By doing so, we create space and time for new growth, just like the trees that will soon be reborn in the spring.

Change can be scary, especially as we grow older. However, just as the changing of seasons is a natural and beautiful process, so too is aging itself. By embracing each new phase of our lives, we can find hope and purpose, even in the face of uncertainty. Whether it’s learning new skills, enjoying time with loved ones, or simply taking a moment to appreciate the beauty of the world around us, there is always something to be grateful for.

In conclusion, the changing of seasons is a powerful reminder of the ebb and flow of life itself. As we age and experience the changes that come with it, we can take heart in the fact that there is always something to look forward to. By embracing each new phase of life, shedding what no longer serves us, and finding joy in the simple things, we can create a purposeful and fulfilling life, no matter our age. So, let us learn to embrace the changing of seasons, as we journey through the seasons of life together.
